About
Dr Sarah Bechstein is a dermatologist and hair-loss specialist based in Berlin. She completed her medical training and doctoral thesis at the University of Heidelberg before undertaking international clinical training across Europe, Australia, Africa, and Switzerland.
During her training, Dr Bechstein gained experience at leading institutions including Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney, Whitechapel Hospital in London, University Hospital Zurich, CHUV Lausanne, and clinical placements in Lomé (Togo) and Bordeaux (France). She later specialised in Dermatology at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, one of Europe’s largest university hospitals.
In 2019, she founded FORMEL SKIN, a leading digital dermatology platform providing personalised dermatology treatment through telemedicine. Through FORMEL SKIN, she has helped thousands of patients manage chronic skin conditions such as acne, rosacea, and other inflammatory skin diseases using personalised, evidence-based treatment plans delivered remotely.
Dr Bechstein also has extensive experience in diagnosing and treating hair loss and scalp disorders. She provides evidence-based consultations for conditions including androgenetic alopecia, telogen effluvium, and other causes of hair thinning, helping patients access effective medical treatments through personalised care.
Alongside her clinical work, she is committed to advancing access to dermatology through telehealth and digital medicine, combining traditional dermatological expertise with innovative, patient-centred care models.
